The five-year bachelor of science in interior design at UC'sCollege of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) is comprehensivefrom the beginning. Because interior designers must be able to integratepractical, technical and aesthetic factors in designing building interiors, thecurriculum introduces students immediately to that challenge. Each level of thestudent’s education engages knowledge and skills in problem discovery andresolution, critical and imaginative thinking, verbal and visual communication,and appropriate technologies.Following two foundation years, interiordesign content studios provide students with opportunities to develop furthertheir creative abilities through design projects for a variety of humanactivity settings. Interior design students complete a total of five semestersof professional practice (co-op) work experiences during years two throughfive. Culminating the curriculum is a capstone senior project in which studentsexercise their acquired knowledge and skills in design project of their ownchoosing.

Founded in 1978, the Interior Design program atArizona State University has a rich history of graduating successful interiordesigners. Our program has consistently been ranked as one of the top interiordesign programs in North America in America’s Best Architecture & DesignSchools, published by DesignIntelligence. The eight semester degree programculminates in a Bachelor of Science in Design, with a concentration in InteriorDesign. Continually accredited since 1987, the program currently holdsaccreditation with the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).
